Coimbatore's Puliakulam-Sowripalayam Road is unmotorable due to frequent digging for water, drainage and telecom, forcing motorists to use longer alternate routes.

The Puliakulam-Sowripalayam Road in Coimbatore serves residents of Kothari Nagar, Meena Estate, Sowripalayam, Puliakulam, and GV Residency as an alternative to Avinashi Road and Tiruchi Road. The nearly one-kilometre stretch has become unmotorable due to works relating to water supply, drainage and telecom utility lines. Motorists have stopped using the stretch and are forced to use Avinashi Road or Tiruchi Road. Buses and auto rickshaws serving Kendriya Vidyalaya on the road find it difficult to navigate. The civic body closed a large pothole but has not levelled the road, causing traffic snarls. Coimbatore Corporation officials said they would look into the matter.

- Buses and heavy vehicles leaving via Avinashi Road should make a U-turn at Lakshmi Mills Junction and travel via Puliyakulam, Ramanathapuram and Singanallur to Neelambur Bypass. Light vehicles can use Masakkalipalayam Road to Singanallur. Vehicles from Hope College should turn at Tidel Park Junction and use Kamarajar Road to reach Singanallur.
- Heavy vehicles travelling from Kalapatti Junction towards Sitra and Avinashi Road can use Thennampalayam. Those from Goldwins towards Avinashi Road should turn right at Maruthi Bakery Junction on Housing Unit Road and take Vilankurichi Road towards Kalapatti Junction.
- Airport passengers should arrive 30 minutes before departure. Taxis and other vehicles cannot park inside the airport on September 30.
- Heavy vehicles are completely barred from entering the city from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
