A detailed project report was submitted in July but approval is pending. The redevelopment plan involves demolishing the existing structure and constructing a modern terminal with basement parking for 2,014 two-wheelers and four bus platforms capable of handling 70 buses. The delay occurs amid uncertainty over Coimbatore's ₹168 crore Vellalore integrated bus terminus project on 61 acres, proposed to consolidate several existing bus terminals.

Members of the Joint Action Committee of Singanallur Tamil Nadu Housing Board House Owners for Integrated Restructuring and the selected builder are jointly pursuing a legal amendment to revive a 960-flat redevelopment project that has stalled.

The Singanallur junction flyover on Tiruchy Road (NH-81) in Coimbatore has been identified as a traffic black spot alongside Saravanampatti and Saibaba Colony. Initial proposal approved in 2022 at Rs 110.8 crore. Project faced delays due to overlap with proposed Metro Rail alignment and lack of bidders. Chennai Metro Rail Limited initially recommended shelving it, but state government retained the project after determining the first metro phase would run along Sathyamangalam and Avinashi roads, not Tiruchy Road. Tenders failed to attract bidders due to outdated estimate and 62-metre span deemed unviable under original budget. Construction material costs rose significantly during delays. Revised estimate: Rs 180 crore. Flyover specifications: approximately 2.4 kilometres, starting from Uzhavar Sandhai and ending near Jai Shanthi Theatre, four-lane carriageway. National Highways wing has submitted revised proposal to Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways seeking approval and funding. Officials expect approval and construction commencement in coming months.

• Buses and heavy vehicles entering from Salem, Erode and Tiruppur cannot use Neelambur; they should take Neelambur Bypass, Chinthamanipudur, Ondipudur and Singanallur. Light vehicles entering from Neelambur can use the same route.
• Buses and heavy vehicles leaving via Avinashi Road should make a U-turn at Lakshmi Mills Junction and travel via Puliyakulam, Ramanathapuram and Singanallur to Neelambur Bypass. Light vehicles can use Masakkalipalayam Road to Singanallur. Vehicles from Hope College should turn at Tidel Park Junction and use Kamarajar Road to reach Singanallur.
• Heavy vehicles travelling from Kalapatti Junction towards Sitra and Avinashi Road can use Thennampalayam. Those from Goldwins towards Avinashi Road should turn right at Maruthi Bakery Junction on Housing Unit Road and take Vilankurichi Road towards Kalapatti Junction.
• Airport passengers should arrive 30 minutes before departure. Taxis and other vehicles cannot park inside the airport on September 30.
• Heavy vehicles are completely barred from entering the city from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
