The 17.5-km Metro Line 11 connecting Wadala to Gateway of India was approved by Maharashtra cabinet in September 2025. The project is pending Central government approval; officials state central cabinet approval is needed before loan signing and tender processes can begin. No movement reported since last year.

Line 11 is planned as extension of Green Line from Anik Depot, Wadala to Gateway of India. Fully underground corridor except one at-grade station, with 14 stations total covering Wadala Truck Terminal, Sewri, Byculla, Bhendi Bazaar, Crawford Market, and CSMT. Will be Mumbai's second underground metro corridor after Aqua Line (Colaba to SEEPZ via BKC).

Funding proposed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Once built, will integrate with Metro Line 3 at CSMT, Metro Line 4 and Monorail at Wadala, and suburban railway stations at Byculla and CSMT, improving north-south connectivity in South and East Mumbai.

Seventy-eight families from Elphinstone Road displaced for the Sewri-Worli Elevated Corridor project-affected persons (PAPs) rehabilitation received new apartments in poor condition. Issues reported: termite infestation, crumbling walls, seepage in walls and bathrooms. Residents spent significant sums on repairs before demanding reimbursement. MMRDA bought homes from MHADA; MHADA will undertake repairs after floating tenders on Tuesday. Homes handed over to MMRDA end-2025; allotments began January 2026 after five families opted for cash compensation instead. Seventy-eight families housed in 16 MHADA buildings across Lower Parel, Byculla, Parel, Matunga, Dadar, Mahim and Wadala within 4-km radius of original homes. Estimated repair cost: ₹56.65 lakh over 18 months. Special repairs include waterproof plaster paint, polymer, tiling, waterproofing treatment for room slabs, replacing doors and windows. Examples: Pooja Herlekar's Priyadarshini building apartment in Dadar had termites and leaks; Mayur Loke in Eon Tower Dadar couldn't nail walls due to crumbling plaster, had seepage and poor kitchen sink; Munaf Thakur in Priyadarshini building Dadar had bathroom floor seepage requiring complete flooring redo.

Devisha Yadav, wife of cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, acquired a 1,402 sq ft apartment (130.25 sq m carpet area, 140.86 sq m total area) in Godrej Sky Terraces, Chembur, Mumbai, for ₹7.18 crore. Transaction registered February 2026. Apartment includes two car parking spaces. Stamp duty: ₹35.90 lakh. Registration charges: ₹30,000. In March 2025, the couple purchased two apartments in the same building for ₹21.1 crore combined.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) issued tenders to hire an interim consultant for proposed Metro Line 11. The 17.4-km fully underground corridor will run from Anik Depot to Gateway of India, traversing east and south Mumbai. The line will feature 14 stations: 13 underground and one at-grade, connecting Wadala, Byculla, Nagpada, Bhendi Bazaar, and Colaba. The alignment starts at Anik Depot near Wadala, passes beneath Mumbai Port Trust area, and tunnels under historic precincts before emerging near Gateway of India, making it the southernmost metro extension. A major highlight is the integrated depot at Anik combining a Metro car depot at lower levels with a BEST bus depot above, using vertical stacking for land use maximisation. The interim consultant will finalise alignment and station locations, conduct geotechnical surveys, prepare preliminary tunnel and station designs, draft civil tender packages, and plan traffic diversions and resettlement strategies. MMRCL plans to appoint the interim consultant by early 2026. Full-scale construction is expected to begin late 2026 or early 2027 after government approvals. The project will follow MMRCL's Aqua Line 3 standards with Indian and international safety codes, routed through Ministry of Railways. Once completed, Line 11 will link eastern suburban commuters and Green Line 4 corridor directly to Fort and Gateway of India. MMRCL officials described it as Mumbai's most technically challenging Metro line due to tunneling through dense, heritage-rich neighbourhoods beneath century-old structures.

Suryakumar Yadav and wife Devisha Yadav purchased two luxury apartments in Godrej Sky Terraces, Deonar, registered March 21, 2025. Combined carpet area approximately 4,222.7 sq. ft, total built-up area over 4,568 sq. ft. Six designated car parking spaces included. Total investment ₹21.1 crore. Godrej Sky Terraces spans 1.05 acre with 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments. Average property price ₹52,433 per sq. ft. Between March 2024 and February 2025, project recorded 25 sale registrations totalling ₹202 crore transaction value.
