NMMC Standing Committee rejected a proposal for a sports complex at Vashi Sector 10A. Proposal was defeated by majority vote with BJP having higher committee members. Belapur constituency already has sports facilities including swimming pool and indoor sports infrastructure, while Airoli Assembly constituency lacks a sports complex. Proposed project on Plot Nos. 11 and 12 at Vashi Sector 10A included hockey field, tennis courts, running track, pathways, parking and other sporting facilities. Shiv Sena members opposed rejection, arguing proposal should have been revised to include other areas lacking facilities rather than rejected outright. Shiv Sena group leader Manoj Haldankar has launched a critique of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) administration, demanding immediate action against contractors responsible for delays in Airoli infrastructure projects.

Cidco has decided to develop an integrated residential township spread over 69 acres in Airoli. Plot number 20 in Sector 10A will be given to successful bidder offering highest revenue share percentage to Cidco. Construction and development span 20 years. State government approved 'Theme based and Iconic City Development' to facilitate development of bulk parcels through construction and development operator agreement.
