Kalyani Nagar Residents Seek Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Measures

Kalyani Nagar residents asked Pune Traffic Police for enforcement, safer crossings and two planned road links to ease congestion.

Key facts

Kalyani Nagar residents submitted a formal letter to Pune Traffic Branch Deputy Commissioner Amol Zende seeking traffic and pedestrian safety measures. They requested two constables at Adlabs Chowk during peak hours, a constable and pedestrian crossing at Shastri Nagar Chowk, CCTV monitoring at GA Chowk, and a tamper-proof signal box at GA Junction after tampering. They also sought challans for no-parking violations, enforcement against wrong-way driving at Adlabs Chowk from East Avenue Road, and enforcement near Silver Oak Society.

Residents cited unauthorised commercial parking, rickshaws in no-parking areas on DMart Lane, double parking in Lane 7D, and an abandoned car in Lane 7 opposite Lunkad Sky Lounge society. They also raised poor last-mile connectivity at the metro station. Two DP-plan roads were requested: Blue Grass Road connecting SA to Gunjan Chowk, and Holy Cross Road connecting DMart Lane to Vadgaon Sheri and St. Arnold School. Zende said routes were being altered to improve traffic flow.
