Aaji Care, an elder-care organisation operating in Mumbai, Pune and Goa, inaugurated its sixth assisted living centre and second Pune centre on 30 August at Kalyani Nagar. The seven-storey purpose-built facility has 49 beds, Aaji Care's largest centre to date. Four floors dedicated to elders with Alzheimer's and dementia, designed for safety and emotional wellbeing. One floor for high-dependency care. Two floors for rehabilitation, assisted living, and active independent seniors. Facility includes physiotherapy unit and activity spaces for mobility, cognitive stimulation and socialisation. Designed by ageing-in-place architect Rama Sane with inputs from doctors, geriatric psychologists, physiotherapists and elder-care professionals. Multidisciplinary team includes trained caregivers, nurses, doctors, psychologists and physiotherapists. Inauguration attended by Padma Shri Dr. Prakash Amte, Dr. Mandakini Amte, Dr. Vitthal Kamat, author Achyut Godbole, and 175 guests. Founder Prasad Bhide stated the centre aims to "add better days to the lives of our elders" through independence, dignity, companionship and meaningful engagement alongside medical care.

Pune Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee approved approximately ₹2 crore in additional spending, including GST, to modify the pipeline-shifting work for Sadhu Vaswani Bridge. Committee Chairman Srinath Bhimale said the original plan to lay a replacement pipeline by the jack-and-push method was changed to micro-tunnelling after workers encountered hard rock.

An old RCC duct, believed to date to around 1905, then halted work when railway authorities refused permission to dismantle it. The revised plan is to install an 800 mm mild-steel pipeline through the duct, removing the existing 600 mm pipeline inside it. Railway authorities have given in-principle approval; written permission is expected.

The existing 1,000 mm pipeline beneath the railway tracks supplies Yerawda, Kalyani Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Jail Road. The extra work, excluded from the original tender, will be handled by existing contractor R.B. Krishnani at 0.1% below its quoted cost. Funding comes from the “Integrated Traffic Plan from Sadhu Vaswani Bridge to Bund Garden Bridge” budget head. The change is intended to prevent further bridge delays and ensure railway safety.

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has accelerated traffic projects across Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar, Mundhwa and Keshavnagar, where IT hubs and residential growth have increased pressure on limited road infrastructure. Standing Committee Chairman Shrinath Bhimale and Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram inspected ongoing and proposed works on Tuesday. City Engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar, Madhav Jagtap, Banker, Manisha Shekatkar and Corporator Umesh Gaikwad were also present.

Bottlenecks include Mahatma Phule Chowk in Mundhwa, the Kalyani Nagar–Koregaon Park stretch and Aga Khan Bridge. A new bridge connecting Kalyani Nagar and Koregaon Park is under construction, and road widening is underway at strategic points. A flyover costing approximately ₹126 crore has been approved to ease congestion at Mundhwa Chowk. New bridges and road improvements are also being implemented along the Hadapsar–Mundhwa–Keshavnagar corridor.

Vascon Engineers is targeting an EPC order book of ₹4,000 crore and real estate projects worth ₹2,500 crore by FY27. Its near-term real estate pipeline totals 1.94 million sq ft, with sales value of ₹2,360 crore. The company operates in 13 cities; its EPC business is split 75:25 between government and private clients, and its nearly ₹3,000 crore order book provides 18–24 months of execution visibility. EPC capacity utilisation is about 85 per cent.

Pune’s real estate pipeline is 1.3 million sq ft, with sales potential of ₹1,700–2,000 crore through joint ventures. Projects include Tower of Ascend in Kharadi and GoodLife in Talegaon; planned Kalyani Nagar developments have a gross development value of ₹1,700 crore. Pune EPC projects include police staff quarters (₹262 crore), a hospital at Moshi, Pimpri Chinchwad (₹277 crore), and a PMRDA housing project (₹96 crore).

Mumbai’s 0.4 million sq ft redevelopment pipeline is valued at ₹1,050 crore and is expected to make up nearly half the real estate portfolio by FY27. Projects include Vascon Orchids and Prakash CHS in Santacruz, and a Powai residential project projected to generate ₹425 crore in sales.
