From 8 am to 10 pm, rainfall measured 51 mm in Mumbai’s island city, 72 mm in the eastern suburbs and 71 mm in the western suburbs. The BMC recorded 33.42 mm, 49.68 mm and 48.45 mm, respectively, from 8 am to 6 pm. Public transport largely remained unaffected, though some suburban trains were delayed. The IMD forecast heavy to very heavy rain, extremely heavy rain at isolated locations and 60–70 kmph gusts over the next 24 hours. The BMC reported 203 tree-fall complaints, eight short circuits and 15 house- or wall-collapse complaints.

In 2020, the prisons department asked the public works department to plan a 25-storey prison for 10,000 prisoners on a five-acre Mankhurd plot.
