Mankoli Flyover closed four days during Ganpati immersion in Dombivli

Thane Transport Department will close Mankoli Flyover in Dombivli from noon to midnight on four Ganpati immersion dates with traffic diversions.

Key facts

Mankoli Flyover at Mothagaon in Dombivli will close from 12 noon to midnight on August 28, August 31, September 2, and September 6 during Ganpati immersion. Closure announced by Transport Department Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Shirsat.

Dombivli devotees use Ganesh Ghat at Mothagaon Retibandar creek for immersion on regular days, five days, seven days, and Anant Chaturdashi. Many proceed via Retibandar Chowk Road, Retibandar Railway Gate towards Mankoli Flyover.

Since opening, Mankoli Flyover became preferred route for commuters from Thane, Mumbai, and Bhiwandi, adding congestion at Retibandar Railway Gate, Umeshnagar, and Pandit Deendayal Road. Anticipated traffic increase during immersion prompted closure.

Thane/Mumbai vehicles: restricted at Anjur Divegaon, Lodha Dham, Mankoli; use Anjurphata, Bhiwandi bypass
Kalyan, Ambernath, Badlapur, Navi Mumbai vehicles: restricted at Patri Bridge, Tata Naka, Suyog Hotel, DNS Bank Sonarpada, Manpada Chowk, Gharda Circle; use Durgadi and Gandhar Bridge
Thakurli/Dombivli vehicles: restricted at Kopar Bridge and Thakurli Bridge; use Durgadi Bridge and Gandhar Bridge
Dombivli via Mothagaon Retibandar Railway Gate: stopped at Mothagaon Mankoli; use Patripool and Durgadi Chowk
