  • Four-level automated mechanical parking facility in basement and ground-floor areas

This is part of Phase-II plans to develop around 12 lakh sq ft of commercial space along Metro Corridors 3, 4 and 5. Commercial developments are progressing or planned at Mandaveli, Thoraipakkam, Sholinganallur, Thirumangalam, Sembium, Perambur Barracks, Purasawalkam, Chetpet, Boat Club, Kacheri Road and Alwarpet.

Urban planning experts have stressed the need for adequate parking and traffic management to prevent congestion around such complexes.

The proposed building will be on about 1,660 sq m of land behind the station, near the existing parking area on 100 Feet Road.
