The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will plant 4,175 trees as part of the Chedda Nagar–Anand Nagar flyover project. The flyover design on the Vikhroli–Ghatkopar stretch has been altered to conserve 127 existing Pink Trumpet trees. MMRDA is working with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and the Tree Authority on the project.

• Trial train coaches for Mumbai Metro Green Line 4 and 4A were placed on tracks near Anand Nagar, Thane, from midnight on August 25. The coaches match final specifications but are not the final trains. Trial runs are expected to begin in September 2025.
• The rolling-stock contract was awarded in February 2025 to a joint venture of Larsen & Toubro and Alstom.
• A 10.5-km stretch covering 10 stations from Gaimukh to Cadbury Junction, including Line 4A and part of Line 4, is expected to open by February 2026. Stations: Cadbury, Majiwada, Kapurbawadi, Manpada, Tikuji-ni-Wadi, Dongari Pada, Vijay Garden, Kasarvadavali, Gowaniwada and Gaimukh.
• Mumbai Metro Line 3 will run daily from 6:30 a.m. to midnight from August 27 to September 6 for Ganeshotsav. Its 22-km Aarey (JVLR)–Worli section is operational; the full 33-km corridor to Cuffe Parade (Colaba) awaits CMRS certification for the remaining stretch.

Coaches for the first trial train were lifted onto the tracks near Anand Nagar, Thane, from midnight on August 25, 2025. Trials are scheduled to begin in September 2025. The coaches are not the final trains, but have identical specifications; the rolling-stock contract for Green Lines 4 and 4A was awarded to the Larsen & Toubro–Alstom joint venture in February 2025.

A 10.5-km stretch from Gaimukh to Cadbury Junction, covering Line 4A and part of Line 4, is expected to open by February 2026. It will include 10 stations and be the longest partial launch.

The first girder has been installed on the elevated freeway extension between Chedda Nagar and Anand Nagar along the Eastern Express Highway in Bhandup, Mumbai. Construction is ongoing on the stretch, with the installation marking progress on its structural work.

Bhandup police booked Sharma Construction Company owner Vinod Sharma and associates Narendra Kataria and Abdul over the alleged January 29, 2026 assault of 65-year-old society member Ramesh Prakash Mohan. Mohan owns an ancestral flat in Badal Co-operative Housing Society, a 16-flat building in Anand Nagar, Village Road, Bhandup West, which is more than 45 years old.

Society members had agreed to redevelopment, and committee members submitted a proposal to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority in 2022 in favour of Sharma Construction Company. Mohan objected and filed a civil suit on October 7, 2023. A December 23, 2025 court order reportedly restrained demolition and construction. The FIR alleges the developer disconnected water and electricity and pressured residents to vacate; Mohan and four other members refused, and Mohan had not signed a development agreement.

After an attempted pipeline removal on January 28, Sharma and the two associates allegedly assaulted Mohan at his residence the next day, striking him with a wooden stick and threatening to kill him. He was treated at Agarwal Hospital and admitted to Aastha Hospital, both in Mulund. Police registered a case under relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections and are investigating.
