Gaurs Group developed an 11.8-acre housing project 'Gaur Alaris' at Sector 22D on Yamuna Expressway connecting Noida and Greater Noida to Agra. The project comprises 1,088 apartments with estimated sales realisation of ₹1,900 crore. The development targets premium housing demand driven by improving connectivity, expanding infrastructure and the upcoming Noida International Airport. The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission’s August 31 order directs Sunworld Vandita Group to refund all deposited amounts to buyers of its Sector 22D housing project in Yamuna City, with 12% annual interest within two months. Delayed payment will attract 15% annual interest; each buyer must also receive ₹25,000 in litigation costs. The commission rejected the builder’s claim that farmers’ protests and land litigation delayed construction, saying it was responsible for securing approvals and complying with requirements. Promoter Sanjiv Gupta said the principal had been paid and interest was being processed.

YEIDA allotted the land in 2011; bookings opened in 2012, and around 1,400 buyers invested. By 2013, buyers had deposited 20–80% of flat prices and signed agreements. Delivery was expected around 2017, but buyers found no construction activity during site visits that year. They approached NCDRC in 2018. Of 91 initial petitioners, 27 withdrew; 64 remained. They had sought full refunds with 24% interest, ₹2 lakh compensation each for mental harassment and ₹5 lakh litigation costs.
