Mumbai Police Probe Alleged ₹75 Lakh Flat Fraud in Nehru Nagar

Nehru Nagar police are investigating Harsha Shah and her son over an alleged ₹75 lakh fraud involving a flat in Olive Shoreline Apartments.

Key facts

Prakash Sambhaji Khavanekar, a retired IBPS employee, says he paid ₹75 lakh for Flat 1004, measuring 664 sq. ft. on the 10th floor of Olive Shoreline Apartments in Nehru Nagar, Kurla East. The June 2018 deal was priced at ₹70 lakh, plus ₹5 lakh for registration; he paid by cheque between June 24 and July 16, 2018.

After developer Rajendra Shah died in October 2019, his wife Harsha Shah and son Deep Shah took over the business. Khavanekar alleges Deep Shah promised a flat but did not deliver or refund the money. In October 2024, he found the completed flat had allegedly been sold to another buyer. He was told the project had been redeveloped with another builder and that the Bombay High Court had ordered 13 flats allotted to Harsha Shah in a settlement.

Nehru Nagar police registered a case against Harsha and Deep Shah under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 318(4) and 3(5) and are investigating.
