A Mumbai special court discharged Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and five former Public Works Department officials in an Anti-Corruption Bureau case registered in June 2015. The accused were Gajanan Sawant, Harish Patil, Anilkumar Gaikwad, Sanjay Solanki and M.S. Shah. The detailed court order is not yet available.

The ACB alleged that a prime Mumbai University plot in Kalina was granted to the state for a library. In 2009, the PWD allegedly tendered construction on part of the four-acre plot, while the remainder was leased to a developer for 99 years at Re 1 per square metre. The ACB alleged the arrangement was illegal, that the accused oversaw the process, and that documents were forged during approvals.

The Bombay High Court directed the city survey officer to demarcate around 3.7 acres at the University of Mumbai’s Kalina campus and asked the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai to take legal steps to remove encroachments afterward. The university withdrew its petition challenging a slum rehabilitation scheme; the court vacated its 2025 interim stay on the Slum Rehabilitation Authority and developer Track Estates proceeding with the project. The university said the state agreed in 1962 to provide expansion land, acquired Kalina parcels in 1974 and issued a sanad in 1987, but its name was not added to revenue records. Galaxy Heights and Yogiraj Asram societies had a development agreement with Track Estates; the SRA issued it a letter of intent in June 2022. The Andheri tehsildar ordered the developer’s name removed from revenue records in October 2023, and the SRA’s Apex Grievance Redressal Committee stayed the project in February 2024. The court said the land spans at least 20 plots. Parties may challenge the demarcation in accordance with law.

Raheja Universal Pvt Ltd repurchased Raheja Centre Point, a commercial office building in Kalina, Mumbai, from HDFC Bank Ltd for ₹211 crore. The transaction was registered on September 9, 2025, after the company acquired the land through a tender process.

The building has 49,359 sq ft of built-up area on a 2,464 sq m plot. It comprises two basements, a ground floor, first to fifth floors and terrace space. Stamp duty of ₹12.66 crore and registration fees of ₹30,000 were paid.

The property was sold to HDFC Ltd, now HDFC Bank, in two transactions in December 2019 and March 2020 for a total of ₹167 crore as part of a portfolio realignment. The building is near Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).

• Notices issued on June 11 gave 40–50 families in the seven-acre Matunga West railway colony until June 26 to vacate. Its 22 buildings house about 225 families; eight to 10 have been demolished and four high-rise towers are under construction for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP), led by Adani Group’s Navbharat Mega Developers Private Limited (NMDPL).
• Most families received transit housing in railway colonies near stations. Occupants of buildings 80, 82 and 83 were allotted accommodation at Air India Colony 11 in Kalina, about 3.5 km from Santacruz station. Railway unions oppose the move, citing the colony’s condition, distance, waterlogging and transport concerns; affected employees have sought housing in Lower Parel or Dadar. The agreed plan had called for 812 replacement quarters in multi-storey buildings.
• Western Railway (WR) says the transit flats are maintained 2 BHK units of about 750 sq ft carpet area, with modular kitchens, two bathrooms, 24-hour BMC water and CCTV. A Santacruz shuttle is planned; RLDA or NMDPL will provide shifting expenses. WR also cited planned lighting and security coordination, maintenance, waterproofing, parking, playgrounds, open space and a sewage treatment plant. Alternative accommodation is available at Shatabdi Nagar, Dharavi.

The Air India and Indian Airlines colonies in Kalina, spread across 184 acres, are ending after about 70 years; the first of four colonies was built in 1955. In recent weeks, around 150 residents began vacating their flats. Most worked for government-owned AI Engineering Services Ltd and AI Airport Services Ltd, while a few worked for private carrier Air India. The last occupants were due to leave on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
