The road becomes submerged after brief rainfall, with vehicles crawling through murky, sewage-like water and pedestrians wading through stagnant water. Residents demanded immediate road reconstruction, proper drainage network, and permanent waterlogging solution. Complaints over years to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) failed to bring lasting relief. The affected road connects Malhaur, Hasemau, Jagpal Khera, Bharwara, One World City, Khargapur and Shaheed Path in rapidly expanding eastern Lucknow. Issues include concealed potholes, two-wheeler accidents, hazard to schoolchildren and elderly, and poor street lighting. A Hindustan Times inspection found several major drains across Lucknow clogged with plastic waste and garbage despite the LMC's pre-monsoon desilting drive and a ₹255 crore sanitation budget for 2026-27. The LMC had fixed June 30 deadline for drain cleaning before monsoon onset, but garbage remained visible at Sarkata Nullah near Mahmood Nagar, a drain in Sector-P Ashiana, and Adil Nagar. LMC chief engineer (civil) Mahesh Verma and municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar said residents' complaints would be considered and issues addressed.
