Indore family seeks protection over Chhota Bangarda land dispute

A Sogani family says it has owned 5 acres in Chhota Bangarda since 1994 and has asked police to stop alleged threats and encroachment attempts.

  • The Sogani family of the Aerodrome police station area complained to Indore police commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh about repeated threats and attempts to forcibly occupy their land in Chhota Bangarda.
  • They say they have owned and possessed a 5-acre plot in Chhota Bangarda since 1994.
  • The family says a neighbouring plot, Khasra No. 90, was sold to a developer, who built a colony adjacent to their land without dispute.
  • They allege the original owner of Khasra No. 90 sold non-existent land, falsely shown as part of Sogani property, to Lokesh Jain.
  • According to the complaint, two official demarcations found Jain’s land did not overlap with theirs, and their plot was found to be 4,800 square feet short.
  • They allege Jain pressured them to sell the land and came on 4 August with 50 to 60 people, including women, vandalised property and assaulted the security guard.
  • The family says it has filed multiple complaints at Aerodrome police station since 2023-24 and wants police protection and action against those involved.
