Indore Approves 18-Metre Chandan Nagar–Kalani Nagar Road

The Madhya Pradesh government has approved an 18-metre road linking Chandan Nagar and Kalani Nagar, with ₹20 crore allocated and construction ready to begin.

- The Madhya Pradesh government granted final administrative approval for the 18-metre-wide road connecting Chandan Nagar to Kalani Nagar, following publication of a gazette notification. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said all legal formalities were complete and claims and objections resolved.
- The road will provide an alternative between Kalani Nagar Square on Airport Road and the Chandan Nagar junction on Dhar Road, helping distribute traffic and serve as an alternative to the Western Ring Road.
- Around 800 metres of road near Nandan Nagar and Nageen Nagar have been incorporated into the Master Plan.
- More than 200 encroachments have been identified along the route. ₹20 crore has been allocated from Master Plan surplus funds. Tenders and work orders have been issued, and construction is ready to commence.

Indore Municipal Corporation has finalised the design for an estimated ₹40 crore flyover at the Chandan Nagar–Western Ring Road junction and will float tenders soon. The structure will be around 800 metres long, from District Hospital to Sirpur Road, and aligned with master plan road dimensions; construction will begin after official notification.
The civic body will also start work on Subhash Marg, Chhawani, Jinsi, Chandan Nagar Road and other master plan circulation roads. An official notification is due for an alternative 60-foot-wide road parallel to the Western Ring Road. A high-level meeting on November 3, with officials from Bhopal, will decide on major road projects.

Passengers now walk approximately one kilometre between Machhli Bazaar and Nagar Nigam to access connecting buses, creating particular hardship for elderly, disabled, women, and child commuters.
Rajwada has served as a key transit hub since 2006. While traffic congestion at the circle has reduced, the administration acknowledges coordination issues and is working on solutions balancing traffic management with commuter convenience. AICTSL CEO Arth Jain stated buses are currently routed around rather than through the area.
