The MCD said it was trying to locate records and had asked owners to provide plans, noting some buildings were 50–60 years old.
The court sought details of inspections and buildings operating as PGs, and questioned whether MCD figures on demolitions, sealing and show-cause notices concerned PG buildings or general enforcement. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said they were general figures and sought time to obtain instructions. The bench said authorities should identify PG buildings. It also permitted former IPS officer Kiran Bedi to address the court at the next hearing.
