Telangana High Court Orders Probe, Keeps Nandagiri Hills Construction Stayed

The Telangana High Court ordered an investigation into Net Net Ventures’ Nandagiri Hills construction and continued the stay until further orders.

The Telangana High Court directed the principal secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department to investigate construction by M/s Net Net Ventures Pvt Ltd at Nandagiri Hills, Shaikpet, and report within two months. Construction must remain at status quo until further orders.

The Nandagiri Co-operative Housing Society cited a June 18, 2024 Vigilance report alleging GHMC permission violations and recommending government intervention. It alleged the company, led by G Amarender Reddy, was building a seven-star hotel, multiplex and shopping mall without required environmental and fire safety NOCs. GHMC approved a 12-floor structure in 2013; revised plans allowed a G+13 building covering 2,09,620 sq ft. The society claimed construction exceeded those limits. GHMC issued two demolition orders, most recently in January 2025.

The City Small Causes Court upheld GHMC’s decision and stopped construction, citing environmental risks. The High Court said the Vigilance report and earlier judgment must be considered. The Commissioner may examine the company’s request for time to rectify violations. The next hearing is October 6, 2025.
