A survey across Srinagar Colony, Yousufguda, Shaikpet, Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Hydershakote, Sun City and Bandlaguda Jagir found footpaths used for shops, stalls, workshops and parking; where footpaths were absent, people walked on roads. Three months after the Supreme Court declared walking on safe, demarcated footpaths a fundamental right, pedestrians faced traffic risks, especially near Hidayah Islamic International School in Tolichowki and on the Hydershakote–Sun City corridor.

Footpaths in Srinagar Colony, Kamalapuri Colony and Karmikanagar are occupied by businesses or parked two-wheelers. Vendors and businesses also use pavements along Tolichowki’s 7 Tombs Road, the Mehdipatnam–Gudimalkapur Road and in Attapur. One Attapur footpath outside a house held five vehicles; a tiffin centre had operated on a pavement near Deccan Elite Hotel for seven or eight years without being asked to move.

Hydershakote main road, a growing residential corridor with gated communities, schools and supermarkets, largely lacks continuous footpaths. RTC buses, other heavy traffic and a Friday vegetable market add risks for pedestrians and schoolchildren.

Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector Mikkilineni Manu Choudary told property owners and resident welfare associations that survey numbers supported by representations and documents would be examined for removal from the 22-A prohibited-properties list within two days. A delegation from the United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (Uferwas), other associations and owners presented title and link documents; Malkajgiri BRS MLA Marri Rajasekhara Reddy accompanied them.

The properties are in Seetaram Nagar Colony, Balaram Nagar Colony, Adarsh Nagar Colony, Mallikarjuna Nagar, Kakatiya Nagar, Defence Colony, Jupalli Homes Gated Community, RK Puram Asha Officers Colony, East Anandbagh-Srinagar Colony and Alwal-Sridham Colony. Uferwas general secretary BT Srinivasan said Supreme Court judgments protect ownership where owners establish title through valid documents and the government has not taken possession under Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) proceedings. The delegation cited long-standing title records in Asha Officers Colony, Defence Colony and Survey Nos. 109 and 111 in Seetaram Nagar Colony.

Property in Srinagar Colony seized by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for non-payment of property tax; released after payment process initiated. Tax due since 2017: ₹1.6 crore including arrears and penal interest. After 90% interest waiver under One Time Settlement scheme (valid until March 31, 2026), payable amount reduced to approximately ₹83 lakh. Building classified as Commercial because fugitive liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya leased it; category and tax records not updated after his departure. Ownership records remain under late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's name. Property vacant for several years but heirs unable to produce vacancy proof to qualify for tax concession. Caretaker appointed. Jayalalithaa's legal heirs declared by Madras High Court in May 2020: nephew J. Deepak and niece J. Deepa. Stilt-plus-four storey building. Ownership currently under Jayalalithaa's name in GHMC records with no mutation to legal heirs.
