Nallagandla Lake has a Full Tank Level (FTL) area of 89.69 acres, comprising 36.37 acres of government land and 53.32 acres of private land. HYDRAA is undertaking restoration at an estimated cost of Rs 28 crore. Private pattadars in Nallagandla village of Serilingampally mandal submitted signed consent letters to HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath supporting the project and urging timely compensation under the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) policy. Landowners noted the lake once served irrigation and drinking water needs but had deteriorated into a polluted water body amid rapid urbanisation. Proposed amenities include parks, children's play areas, walking tracks and fitness equipment, similar to other rejuvenated lakes in Hyderabad. Residents of Narsingi village in Gandipet mandal also met HYDRAA officials to praise safeguarding of nearby Mushkin Lake from encroachments; approximately 35.10 acres of Mushkin Lake's 52.20-acre total extent had come under encroachment before HYDRAA intervened.

GHMC to construct four-lane road over bridge (RoB) near Bridge No 202 at km 161/13–15 close to Lingampally railway station. Project aimed at decongesting traffic towards Lingampally, BHEL, Nallagandla and Gachibowli while ensuring uninterrupted movement during monsoon. Estimated cost: ₹308 crore. Completion timeline: two years. Execution on EPC or turnkey basis as part of railway infrastructure development. Railway superstructure executed by Railway department; remaining railway span by EPC agency. Two uni-directional, first-level flyovers between Gachibowli and BHEL, each 8.5 metres total width (0.5-metre crash barriers either side, 7.5-metre carriageway). Two-lane up-ramp from Gulmohar Junction. Design includes viaducts with obligatory spans for traffic movement below, retaining wall approaches. Roads at Gulmohar Junction and existing road under bridge junction to be strengthened and relaid. Scope includes surveys, investigations, detailed designs, flexible pavement works, overhead gantries, landscaping, crash barriers, approach slabs, medians, and utility shifting.

Heavy overnight rainfall beginning around 1.40 am lashed Hyderabad early Thursday, causing severe waterlogging and traffic disruption in Lingampally, Chandanagar and Serilingampally.

Rainfall recorded: University of Hyderabad 148.5 mm, MMTS Lingampally 114 mm, Chandanagar 109.8 mm. In contrast, Secunderabad, Golconda and LB Nagar saw under 10 mm.

Lingampally railway underpass turned into a waterbody, blocking traffic during peak hours on both sides. In Chandanagar, floodwaters entered shopping complex cellars along the national highway, damaging stores. Nallagandla's Tellapur-Nallagandla Road was inundated after evening rains, stranding residents in gated communities. Kondapur saw two-wheelers stuck in knee-deep water.

GHMC's disaster response force deployed across affected zones including Santosh Nagar, Champapet and Kondapur to clear drains and pump water. HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath visited flood-prone sites including Lingampally railway underpass and Kasoros Apartments, identifying lack of drainage routes from upstream areas into Gopi Cheruvu as causing severe backflow. Officials directed to lower water levels in Gopi Cheruvu and Chakali Cheruvu and speed up stormwater canal construction in Bachupally.

In Upparapally, an internal link drain was dug and operationalised within 12 hours to protect Ashok Vihar Colony, which had faced flooding for seven years.

IMD issued yellow alert till June 14 for continued light to moderate rain and gusty winds. Officials flagged concerns over urban runoff and blocked lakes. Residents urged long-term drainage upgrades near Gopi Cheruvu and Palle Cheruvu.
