IT services exports from Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) Special Economic Zones reached ₹33,268 crore in FY25, up 21% year-on-year. ELCOT has established eight SEZs across Chennai and tier-2 cities, spanning 1,185 acres. Tamil Nadu is India’s third-largest software exporter, according to the IT and Digital Services Department’s 2025-26 policy note.

The state plans to offer e-Sevai and other citizen services through WhatsApp. As of March 31, 2025, Tamil Nadu had 34,843 e-Sevai centres; 1,09,66,215 transactions were completed through the portal in FY25. ELCOT is revamping the Tamil Nadu Information and Communication Technology Policy 2018. It has established 266 Permanent Enrolment Centres for Aadhaar services, with 50 more planned.
