Delhi’s first ice rink is expected to be ready by August at Dwarka Sector 23 Sports Complex. Spread over 4,200 square metres, it will include a 60m x 30m rink and associated infrastructure, and is expected to host national and international sporting events. Located within the cloverleaf at Dwarka Sports Complex, the facility is intended for recreation and sports training. Civil construction is almost complete; internal fittings are underway to ensure proper temperature control. A senior DDA official described it as an Olympic-standard rink.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will develop a five-star hotel in Sector 23, Dwarka, with private firm Juniper Hospitality as licensee. The hotel is expected to become operational by 2030 and create around 800 direct jobs, with capital investment exceeding ₹1,000 crore.

The project is part of Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu’s plan to make Dwarka an investment hub. It will overlook Dwarka Golf Course and is near Yashobhoomi Convention Centre and Dwarka Sports Complex. It is also expected to serve the proposed diplomatic enclave opposite the site.

Over its 55-year licence period, the hotel is projected to generate more than ₹6,000 crore in revenue for DDA. It is one of four special licence-fee projects auctioned by DDA in the past year and the first for which the authority has formally executed a licensing agreement.

The hotel is targeted for completion by 2030.

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) invited applications to auction licence rights for a five-star hotel on a 2.5-acre land parcel in Dwarka’s Sector 23. The site will be leased for 55 years under a public-private partnership; the selected agency will develop, build, finance, operate and manage a 200-room hotel. Development will follow the 2021 Master Plan of Delhi and unified building bylaws. The licensee may book up to 25% of non-membership, pay-and-play slots daily for hotel guests at DDA’s Dwarka Golf Course.

DDA’s move followed its success leasing a 2-acre Nehru Place site for another five-star hotel the previous month. That hotel, being developed on a licence-fee basis, could generate ₹28 crore annually for DDA, with the fee increasing each year by a specified percentage.

The selected bidder will design, build, finance and operate the hotel under a 55-year lease, with about four years to complete construction. The facility must meet Ministry of Tourism five-star standards; bids will be decided through an open e-auction.

The hotel is part of DDA’s commercial development plans for six large city land parcels, including a Gold Souk in Dwarka Sector 22, office complexes in Rohini, hotels in Nehru Place and Dwarka Sector 23, and a hospital in Dwarka Sector 9. The Nehru Place site is 0.9 hectares and the Rohini office site is 9.3 hectares.

Last month, Fleur Hotels Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, won the Nehru Place five-star hotel project. That deal is expected to generate around ₹10,000 crore for DDA over 55 years.
