The 1.8-kilometre Yelahanka flyover between Yelahanka police station and Seshadripuram First Grade College Junction on Doddaballapur Main Road is expected to open by end of December 2026. Originally scheduled for July 2023, the project has missed multiple deadlines: December 2022, July 2023, December 2023, December 2024, March 2025, December 2025, and May 2026. The project was awarded in January 2022. BNCC Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar cited completion of assessment of pending works and said practical deadline is end of December. Officials attribute delays to rising traffic volumes and construction hour restrictions on the busy Doddaballapur Main Road. BNCC held meeting with contractor and set strict deadline for project completion.

State Highway 9 (Doddaballapur Road) through Yelahanka has multiple dug-up sections with loose gravel and dust clouds, creating an obstacle course for commuters entering and leaving Yelahanka daily.

Average property prices in Sarjapur Road increased 79% to ₹10,800 per square foot in June 2025 from ₹6,050 per square foot in 2021. Prices rose 87% in five years from ₹5,000 per square foot in 2020 to ₹10,300 in 2025. Current apartment prices range ₹10,200–₹11,000 per square foot, with higher-end pockets reaching ₹12,000 per square foot. 2BHK apartments cost ₹80 lakhs–₹1.5 crores for 600–1,200 square feet. By contrast, 3BHK apartments in North Bengaluru (Yelahanka, Thanisandra, Hebbal) cost ₹85 lakhs–₹1.79 crores for 1,314–1,786 square feet, at ₹7,200–₹10,000 per square foot in Yelahanka and ₹9,700 per square foot in Thanisandra.

Sarjapur Road's transformation is driven by proximity to employment centres (Electronic City, Whitefield, Outer Ring Road) and tech parks hosting Wipro, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan. Major infrastructure projects include the Sarjapur–Hebbal Red Line metro (Phase 3A): 36.6 km, 28 stations, ₹28,405 crore budget, expected operational 2031. Peripheral Ring Road and road widening projects are also improving connectivity.

Social infrastructure includes schools (Oakridge International, Delhi Public School, Inventure Academy) and hospitals (Columbia Asia, Narayana Health). Supply constraints and land scarcity drive competition; developers focus on luxury projects including Birla Evara, Godrej Lakeside Orchard and Sobha Crystal Meadows.

BBMP Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao directed officials to fast-track key road and infrastructure projects in Yelahanka Zone, including construction of a new road within the stormwater drain (SWD) buffer zone in Jakkur. During inspection on Tuesday, he emphasised the area forms an important corridor connecting the international airport and instructed officials to develop alternative link roads.

Ongoing works reviewed:

• 15m-wide SWD and road construction from Yelahanka Kogilu Junction to Jakkur Lake
• Study feasibility of linking this stretch through BWSSB sewage treatment plant near Jakkur Road
• 2.5 km white-topping work on Raithara Santhe Road (500m completed to date)
• Railway overbridge ramp construction near Jakkur

Other directives: revive old Kalyani (sacred pond) near Raitha Santhe, fill with water, clear roadside garbage, and develop aeration walkway at Jakkur Lake.

BBMP Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao instructed officials to complete the 2-km-long flyover on Doddaballapur Main Road in Yelahanka Upanagara by end of December 2025. 60% of the flyover construction has been completed; officials and contractors directed to expedite remaining work.

During inspection, Maheshwar Rao also directed:

• Immediate repair of collapsed pedestrian pathway sections along Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Main Road, including curb stone installation
• Bescom to remove protruding iron rods from transformer pole creating pedestrian hazard
• Marshals to fine shopkeepers dumping waste on footpath at 16th B Cross Road
• Installation of slabs on 15-meter stretch of pedestrian path at Chikkabommasandra Cross
• BBMP to issue notices and remove unauthorized building portions on 1st Main Road in A-Sector, Yelahanka Upanagara
• Strict action against all buildings in Yelahanka Zone constructed in violation of approved plans
• Officials to submit proposals for annual maintenance funds for newly built infrastructure including watchtower, cycle track, car tower, Kannada Akshara Male installation, and decorative lighting
