Farmers in Yelahanka taluk have opposed land acquisition for the proposed Bettahalasur–Rajanukunte railway project. Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) leaders demanded that it be dropped, saying it would harm livelihoods and the local ecosystem. KRRS general secretary BG Nanjundappa said small and marginal farmers in Singanayakanahalli, Thimmasandra, Bettahalasur and nearby villages had protested the acquisition.
