• Rajdarbar Pink City Developers Pvt Ltd filed a complaint with the Rajasthan Lokayukta on January 7, 2026.
• It alleges collusion by revenue officials and illegal partition of prime agricultural land in Sanganer tehsil, Jaipur district.

Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) issued a ₹286-crore work order in February 2026 for the Sanganer Elevated Road, announced in the 2024–25 budget. The project is due by 4 September 2028, within 30 months. Since work began in March, about ₹12 crore—around 4% of the ₹286.74-crore project—has been completed. Progress averages ₹2 crore monthly and ₹6.66 lakh daily, against a planned ₹9.56 crore monthly and ₹31–31.8 lakh daily.

The road will connect Tonk Road, Diggi-Malpura Road and New Sanganer Road. Work is underway on parts B and C; part A has not started. JDA has identified more than 500 encroachments overall. Part A, from Sanganer flyover to Chouradia petrol pump, requires freeing over 12,500 sq m; part B has 30 identified encroachments and over 200 sq m to clear; part C, extending to Malpura Gate, has about 140 encroachments and 3,500 sq m identified. Of 666 planned piles, 150 are complete, along with two pier caps.

Jaipur police, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) launched a joint drive to develop Tonk Road as a model corridor. The phased work covers the busy Ajmeri Gate–Sanganer stretch and focuses on reorganising bus stands, removing encroachments, curbing illegal parking and repairing damaged road sections. The initiative also aims to prepare the road for proposed metro construction.

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) proposed five land pooling schemes for urban expansion: two along Mahal Road and three on Agra Road, Kalwar Road and near Tonk Road in Sanganer.

• A 127.08-hectare plot in Ramchandrapura, across Rampura and Kanwarpura villages, is earmarked largely for industry; over 58% is allocated to industries and recreational spaces, with roads up to 200 feet wide.
• A 266.42-hectare plot across Vidhani, Rampura, Kanwarpura, Jaichandpura and Vimalpura is primarily residential.
• Near Khori Ropada village on Agra Road, a scheme under the heritage city plan includes residential and industrial uses.
• A mixed-use scheme covering over 380 hectares is proposed on Kalwar Road.
• In the Muhana Mandi area, 62% of land is residential, with public and semi-public uses also planned.

Jaipur International Airport (IATA: JAI; ICAO: VIJP), in Sanganer about 13 km south of the city centre, handled 7.2 million passengers in FY2024-25 and is Rajasthan’s busiest airport.

Jaipur Metro does not currently serve the airport. The existing Pink Line runs from Mansarovar to Chandpole and does not pass through Sanganer. The Rajasthan government has proposed an airport extension as part of Phase 2 plans. Hotels by FabHotel, Treebo and OYO along the Tonk Road-Sanganer stretch offer airport drops, 24-hour front desks and early-morning cab transfers.
