The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has prepared a draft feasibility report for two proposed flyovers at the intersection of the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and Sohna Highway at Rajiv Chowk. The project requires approximately 3.05 hectares of land:

• 0.8936 hectares from department of animal husbandry
• 0.829 hectares from existing green belt
• 0.7335 hectares from department of telecommunications
• 0.2112 hectares from Haryana government
• 0.2055 hectares from Air Force land
• 0.18325 hectares from Tau Devi Lal Stadium

One flyover will connect Sohna Road to Delhi via Hero Honda Chowk area, allowing signal-free movement. A second flyover from Sector 32 will connect to Sohna Highway. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and eliminate delays currently caused by traffic signals at the intersection. The proposal will be sent to the Haryana government for approval.

The non-motorised traffic (NMT) underpasses at Rajiv Chowk have been made functional for bikes and autos in addition to pedestrians, with the aim of curbing road accidents and alleviating congestion.

• Gurugram Metro will run on a double-decker flyover along Old Delhi Road between Jwala Mill T-point and Dundahera after GMDA asked GMRL to design the stretch as an elevated corridor.
• About 1.25 km of the metro line will share pillars with an elevated road; one deck will carry the metro and the other the road.
• Additional land is being identified for the Sector 21 metro station.
• The proposal was discussed in a review meeting at the GMRL office last week.
• The alignment was changed from Rao Gajraj Singh Road towards Dundahera to reach more commuters along Old Delhi Road and Udyog Vihar.
• RRTS has also shifted its alignment from Old Delhi Road to the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.
• A similar double-decker plan has been proposed for the Ghata-Vatika Chowk stretch on the Sector 56 to Pachgaon metro route along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), and was submitted to Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited in December last year.
• GMRL said double-decker models have been executed in Nagpur, Jaipur and Bengaluru and can substantially cut construction costs.
• GMDA is exploring an elevated corridor from Rajiv Chowk to the railway station and Atul Kataria Chowk, spanning 7.4 km.
• A second elevated road is planned from Atul Kataria Chowk to Dwarka Expressway via Dundahera on Old Delhi Gurgaon Road.
• A third 3.7 km stretch is planned from Mahavir Chowk to Iffco Chowk.

NHAI will prepare a Detailed Project Report for a three-kilometre elevated corridor at Narsinghpur, between Hero Honda Chowk and Kherki Daula on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. The proposal was discussed by NHAI chairman Santosh Kumar and GMDA chief executive PC Meena at NHAI headquarters in Delhi. Overflow from the Badshahpur drain regularly floods the stretch during monsoon, disrupting traffic. GMDA built a temporary diversion drain last year and is planning a permanent diversion; it is constructing a storm-water drain to Badshahpur. NHAI will build a culvert on NH-48, with both agencies preparing an execution plan.

At Rajiv Chowk, NHAI plans two elevated grade separators: a left-turn ramp for Delhi-to-Sohna traffic and a right-turn ramp for Sohna-to-Delhi traffic, including service-road access. The work is to be expedited to improve connectivity between the Sohna and Mumbai Expressways; stakeholder consultations will address land issues. GMDA identified NH-48 stretches for foot overbridges, which NHAI will build and hand over for maintenance. Joint inspections will address monsoon flooding at underpasses.

GMDA asked Gurgaon Metro Rail Ltd (GMRL) to examine whether an elevated road can be built alongside a proposed metro corridor on Old Railway Road to ease chronic old-city congestion. The request came at a Monday meeting chaired by GMDA CEO PC Meena, reviewing elevated-road alignments alongside the Millennium City Centre–Cyber City metro line and the Gurgaon railway station–Bhondsi corridor. GMRL and Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation officials attended. Agencies agreed to explore integrated road and metro infrastructure while conserving right of way for future ridership and traffic. Space is a major constraint on densely built-up Old Railway Road. GMRL raised reservations about a proposed four-lane, 7.4km elevated road from Rajiv Chowk towards the railway station, looping near Sector 5 junction and connecting near Atul Kataria Chowk. The project is estimated to cost about ₹750 crore.
