PCMC issued a letter to contractor directing suspension of work on 400-metre stretch of riverfront development (RFD) project near Mula-Ramnadi confluence in Pimple Nilakh near crematorium. Suspension follows complaints from residents, NGOs and objections from irrigation department. Letter states: "There have been complaints from residents and NGOs regarding the ongoing project near Pimple Nilakh crematorium under your supervision. A technical inspection is conducted to reconsider the current work. Until the preliminary report is ready, the work should be temporarily suspended until further orders." Water resources department on May 5 asked Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune municipal corporations to exercise caution and ensure river cross-section is not reduced and NOC conditions are not violated. PCMC city engineer said work from Wakad Bypass to Sangvi Bridge (Phase-1) is joint project of PCMC and PMC; Pimple Nilakh stretch will be redesigned while remaining sections continue. Municipal commissioner said similar design changes made earlier on public suggestions to protect green cover. PCMC instructed environment, garden and tree authority departments to prepare fresh proposal prioritizing tree conservation.

The flyover at Rakshak Chowk in Pimple Nilakh was opened for vehicular movement on Friday by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Civil Engineering Department. The route is now largely signal-free. Opening expected to significantly reduce travel time between Sangvi Phata and Ravet Mukai Chowk and reduce pressure on the BRT corridor. MLA Shankar Jagtap had demanded completion of safety audit and technical inspection; following this, the civic administration completed required procedures and opened the flyover. Executive Engineer Sandhya Wagh stated the flyover will ease congestion and improve connectivity for commuters in Pimple Nilakh and nearby localities. A subway being constructed through defence land near the junction remains under construction and is expected to open in the near future. PCMC Joint City Engineer Prerana Shinkar clarified that the civic body officially opened the bridge on Thursday night, rejecting social media claims that local citizens opened it themselves. Finishing work including road work beneath the flyover and tiling work remains pending. A formal inauguration ceremony may be held after remaining work is completed; decision to be taken by municipal commissioner, mayor and general body.

PCMC is implementing precautionary measures on the under-construction Rakshak Chowk flyover near Pimple Nilakh after a structural safety audit raised concerns over its dangerously steep gradient. Maval MP Shrirang Barne (Shiv Sena) warned that the sharp slope could become an accident trap for motorists once opened. The audit was ordered following Barne's site inspection. He drew parallels with the Madhukar Pavale flyover in Nigdi, where steep gradient has been blamed for frequent accidents. Barne urged the civic administration to revisit the design and suggested an extension of the flyover. PCMC plans to implement speed curbs and rumbler strips as safety measures.
