Delhi Transport Corporation has started process for setting up charging stations for commercial vehicles at Okhla, Narela and Dwarka bus depots at cost of ₹11 crores. Work involves installing 1,600 KVA compact substations and 240 KW EV chargers for buses and trucks. Stations will have LCD touchscreen interface, LED lights, metering with one percent accuracy, one hour battery backup, and emergency push stop button. User interface enabled through mobile app, QR code, RFID card and payment options. Move aligned with Delhi government plan to accelerate electric vehicle adoption and convert entire public bus fleet to e-buses to curb air pollution. DTC previously started work in November for charging infrastructure at nine bus depots at Rohini Sector 37, Keshopur, Nangloi, Kalkaji, Sukhdev Vihar, Nand Nagri, Ghazipur and Hasanpur. DTC aims to transition entire bus fleet to e-vehicles by end of year.

Delhi High Court issued interim relief staying UP irrigation department's proposed eviction and demolition of 115 properties in Okhla on Friday. Justice Sachin Datta heard petitioners' counsel and issued notice to UP Irrigation Department, with hearing scheduled for August 4.

Petitioners, led by Javed Ahmed and 114 others, challenged notices issued May 22 against properties in Khasra No. 277, Muradi Road, Khizar Baba Colony, Jamia Nagar, Okhla. Properties include commercial, residential and dwelling units.

Counsel argued the eviction notice is arbitrary and illegal as the department has no title to the land. A 1991 civil suit filed by UP State seeking recovery of possession and mesne profits over 108 Bighas and 17 Biswas in Khasra No. 277, Village Okhla, Tehsil Mehrauli was dismissed December 13, 2005, because UP failed to produce ownership/title documents. First appeal was dismissed January 13, 2011, upholding the trial court. Second appeal was dismissed by High Court July 22, 2013. More than 12 years have elapsed with no further legal action, making the order final.
