TVS Emerald has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for a four-acre land parcel in Noombal in west Chennai to develop a residential project with potential booking value of approximately ₹1,000 crore and saleable area of 8.2 lakh sq.ft. The proposed development will comprise contemporary residences. Located along Koyembedu–Poonamallee corridor, Noombal has transformed from primarily industrial and warehousing presence to an emerging residential destination driven by improving infrastructure, expanding social amenities, and increasing residential demand.

The one-km Noombal-Velappanchavadi road in Thiruverkadu Municipality has been crumbling for nearly a year, with potholes and stagnant rainwater making it difficult for vehicles and emergency services. The pothole-ridden stretch connects Velappanchavadi and Noombal with Thundalam, Iyappanthangal, and Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Hospital in Porur. Approximately 15,000 vehicles, including trucks, use the road daily.

Residents report inability to access basic services: gas cylinder deliveries, school van pickups, autorickshaw rides, courier services, and food delivery. Some families have moved out. The road was further damaged after being dug for an incomplete storm-water drain project.

After three years of appeals, residents planned to fill potholes themselves by June 24 if the local body did not begin work. The project to re-lay the road carries an estimated cost of ₹1.12 crore. Thiruverkadu Municipality Commissioner N. Dakshinamoorthy stated temporary restoration would occur within two days, with full re-laying to begin by the second week of July based on Anna University's recommendations for durability.

Residents of Erikkarai Main Road in Noombal, Thiruverkadu Municipality, have complained for more than a decade about bad road conditions. Despite temporary fixes and media coverage, permanent action has not been taken. A resident noted that while Noombal area is seeing surge in residential population with new schools and commercial development, road conditions remain poor to worse. After a January news report, municipality ordered temporary repairs, but the road developed several potholes again after rain in March. The area has bus route S23 traveling through the road; residents express concern the poor road conditions could cause bus to topple and cause fatalities. Ward Councillor Vigneshwaran stated complaints have been taken to higher officials of Thiruverkadu Municipality, but they have refused to promptly act, with permanent fix seeming unlikely.
