State-run NBCC was assigned to complete stalled Supertech projects under a Supreme Court-monitored mechanism in December 2024. The 16 projects include six in Greater Noida—Sports Village, Ecovillage 1, 2 and 3, UP Country and Czar Suits—and four in Noida—Eco Citi, Romano, Capetown and North Eye. Two each are in Gurgaon and Meerut, and one each in Uttarakhand and Bengaluru.

Homebuyers protested outside Supertech’s Noida office last week, alleging no construction had started in the 21 months since handover. NBCC cited legal hurdles, funding shortages and RERA cash-flow rules. NCLAT approved NBCC as implementing agency on December 12, 2024. Supertech challenged that order in the Supreme Court in February 2025; the court stayed it, halting work. In February 2026, the court again approved the revival and directed NBCC to complete the projects. It is due to hear a waiver plea on September 24.

NTPC will set up a green hydrogen facility at the NETRA campus in Greater Noida through NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance, its research and development arm. The plant will use plasma gasification to convert waste into tar-free syngas, which will be processed into hydrogen using pressure swing adsorption or membrane-based technology. Its planned capacity is one tonne per day.

NTPC operates under the Ministry of Power and contributes nearly one-fourth of India’s electricity generation capacity. Its installed capacity exceeds 85 GW, with 30.90 GW under construction, including around 13.3 GW of renewable energy projects. NTPC targets 149 GW of installed capacity by 2032, including 60 GW renewable, and 244 GW by 2037.

Aqua Line inaugurated January 2019, stretches 29.7 km from Sector 51 in Noida to Depot station in Greater Noida. Covers 21 stations: 15 in Noida, 6 in Greater Noida. Key stations include Sector 51, NSEZ, Sector 142, Knowledge Park II, Pari Chowk. End-to-end journey takes 40–45 minutes; trains reach up to 80 km/h. Operates 6:00 am to 10:00 pm with trains every 7–10 minutes during peak hours. Fares range Rs 10–50 depending on distance; smart card users get discounts. Four air-conditioned coaches per train with electronic displays, CCTV, platform screen doors at key stations. All stations IGBC Platinum-certified.

Connects indirectly to Delhi Metro at Sector 51 (walkway to Blue Line's Sector 52). Upcoming Botanical Garden extension will link to Blue and Magenta lines.

Proposed extensions: 17.4 km from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V (11 new stations), 2.6 km from Depot to Boraki (multi-modal hub connection), 11.6 km from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Delhi Metro integration).

Ridership: under 12,000 average daily riders in 2019, over 47,000 in early 2024, single-day record 56,168. Boraki extension projected to attract 60,000 daily users by 2031. Areas near stations like Sector 137, Sector 142, Pari Chowk have witnessed rising demand for residential and commercial spaces with property values increasing.
