Phase II of Chennai Metro Rail project, 118.9 km total, includes underground networks in Adyar, Thiruvanmiyur, and Greenways Road under corridor 3 stretching from Madhavaram to Siruseri via Adyar. Areas affected: Lattice Bridge Road in Adyar, including stretches near Adyar Telephone Exchange, Sardar Patel Road-Lattice Bridge Road Junction, and below the Adyar flyover. Commuters report poorly maintained roads, potholes, and elevations creating hazards. Traffic diversions have been in effect for many months to build stations. Autorickshaw drivers face increased vehicle maintenance costs and back pain from damaged roads.
