As summer peaks, a crackdown has been initiated in DLF City phases to curb illegal extraction and use of potable water at construction sites. Security teams have removed motors from seven construction sites found violating water usage norms.

NHAI has given in-principle approval for DLF to build a right-turn underpass beneath the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and a unidirectional flyover near Shankar Chowk and Cyber City. DLF will fund both projects, estimated to cost ₹300 crore.

The underpass will connect Moulsari Avenue Rapid Metro station to NH-8 near HIL land. The roughly 1.3-km, six-lane flyover will run along the NH-8 service road from the U-turn underpass near Ambience Mall towards Cyber City.

Of 5,099 properties flagged for violations in DLF Phases I-V, nearly 43% are on EWS (Economically Weaker Section) plots. Physical enforcement has reached only 102 properties. Low-cost plots in DLF colonies house seven-floor buildings, PGs, and clinics in violation of regulations.

The planned elevated Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) loop will run 28.5 km from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City, with 27 stations. It is being implemented through the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), as a joint Central and Haryana government initiative.

Phase 1 will cover 15.2 km from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9, serving areas including Sectors 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 22 and 23, and Ashok Vihar. Construction is ongoing; the first pile foundation was laid in Sector 45 at the end of 2025, with work also reported along Neki Ram Marg and near Subhash Chowk.

Phase 2 will cover 13.3 km from Sector 9 to Cyber City. Civil-work tenders were open and work was due to begin in 2026; the route includes Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 18 and Cyber Park. Interchanges are planned at Millennium City Centre (Delhi Metro Yellow Line) and Cyber City (Rapid Metro); a future RRTS interchange is planned at Sector 33.

A proposed 1.85-km spur will connect Basai Village to Sector 101 on Dwarka Expressway. Residents of sectors including 82A, 84, 88A, 89, 99, 101, 103, 106 and 108 currently face an additional 20–30 minutes travelling to the nearest metro. Phase 1 plans skywalks and feeder buses linking Dwarka Expressway sectors with Basai; direct Sector 101 metro access would follow when the spur opens.

Nearly 500 property owners and business operators from DLF Phases I to V gathered at Metro Park in DLF Phase III to protest the ongoing restoration and sealing drive by Haryana department of town and country planning (DTCP). They demanded a policy to regularise existing guest houses and buildings constructed beyond permissible limits. Protesters alleged selective targeting of DLF properties despite similar violations existing across other private colonies and residential sectors. They sought compounding of violations under existing rules rather than demolition or sealing. Property owners argued the colonies developed over three decades and structures cannot be demolished suddenly. Guest houses provide affordable housing to thousands of office workers in Gurugram's corporate sector and represent a walk-to-work model reducing commuting pressure. Residents demanded government simplify paying guest policy and regularise existing units. They also requested transit-oriented development (TOD) benefits and higher floor area ratio (FAR) provisions extended to individual property owners rather than only large developers. Protesters urged temporary suspension of the drive to allow residents to approach the chief minister and state government for resolution. District town planner Amit Madholia stated action is being taken as per law and court directions. A DTCP official confirmed action against illegal constructions and commercial establishments in residential properties is being taken per court directions, with pamphlets distributed to tenants as owners often do not inform them of proceedings.
