CRRI urges NHAI to complete access roads to NH-148NA

Central Road Research Institute asks National Highways Authority to complete access roads linking south Delhi colonies to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway spur to ease Mathura Road congestion.

Key facts

Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) urged National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to complete access roads connecting south Delhi localities to NH-148NA (DND-Manesar spur of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway) on priority basis.

Access roads will serve Batla House, New Friends Colony, Zakir Nagar, Khizrabad and Taimoor Nagar, accessed by over 100,000 vehicles daily. Current congestion on Sir CV Raman Marg and Mathura Road affects these colonies; completed access roads will provide alternative routes to central and south Delhi, airport, New Delhi railway station, Barapullah Elevated Road, Noida and Faridabad.

NH-148NA corridor connects DND Flyway in Delhi to Manesar, 59-km stretch built at estimated cost of over ₹4,000 crore, aims to reduce Delhi-Gurugram travel time to under 30 minutes and decongest Mathura Road, Ashram Chowk and NH-48.

CRRI emphasizes access links on both sides of highway essential for seamless local connectivity. Construction on DND-Faridabad-Manesar spur in final phase; structural and finishing works expected complete within four months. NH-148NA is one of three NCR connectivity spurs under Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, India's longest at 1,386 km across six states, inaugurated in parts since 2023.
