Heavy rain in Ahmedabad has caused severe waterlogging in Vejalpur, flooding streets and homes and disrupting daily life. Residents report rainwater frequently seeping into houses despite repeated complaints. Vejalpur MLA Amit Thakkhar said a ₹39-crore drainage pipeline project is underway with nearly half the work already completed. Authorities are operating pumping systems at full capacity to remove stagnant water before cleaning affected areas. Officials expect the process to be completed within two to three days if there is no further heavy rainfall.

Twenty members of Rashtrapal Cooperative Housing Society in Vejalpur protest against private developer over redevelopment of society-owned land valued at Rs 2,000 crore. Residents allege builder Mehul Patel of Siddhi Group seized land illegally by misleading people into thinking it was government property. Builder claims he won legitimate AMC tender in 2016 granting development rights. Residents allege builder cut water, drainage and electricity connections. Originally 40 members stood their ground; 20 eventually left after being convinced it was government land and promised fully built flats. Remaining 20 residents refuse to vacate. Society has 310 tenements, 40 years old, known as Chandranagar society, with private ownership status confirmed by City Mamlatdar's office. Residents lodged complaints with police commissioner, AMC commissioner, Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court, Chief Minister and state human rights commission. Matter taken to city civil court; residents claim builder dodges hearings.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated six completed Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) projects worth ₹279.80 crore and laid foundation stones for six projects estimated at ₹304.05 crore, taking the 12-project package to ₹583.85 crore. The programme was held under the Seva, Sankalp and Samarpan Abhiyan.

Completed works include a four-lane Vadaj Junction flyover (₹127.92 crore); the Makarba four-lane railway overbridge on the Ahmedabad-Botad line (₹98.60 crore), connecting Makarba, Vejalpur, Corporate Road and S.G. Highway; 328 of 1,190 planned EWS homes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at TP-39, Thaltej (₹22.24 crore); 15 fire-station first-response vehicles (₹19.74 crore); 10 engine-equipped emergency boats (₹3.40 crore); and Shahibaug rehabilitation with 108 homes and 46 shops (₹7.90 crore).

New projects include Ramapir Tekra road-network development in Stadium Ward (₹72.78 crore); rehabilitation of an 1,800-mm drainage line from Nagarvel Hanuman Temple to Guruji Bridge (₹65.51 crore); a drainage pumping station and rising line at Navana, Vatva (₹61.81 crore); an AMTS/BRTS electric-bus charging and parking facility at TP-110, Nikol-Kathwada (₹61.89 crore); a bus depot, parking and charging station near SP Ring Road (₹28.08 crore); and a Sabarmati east-bank temple circuit linking Saptarishi Ashram, Jagannath Temple and Atal Ghat (₹13.98 crore). The event also included a housing draw and appointment letters for more than 450 Assistant Technical Supervisors and around 50 Junior Clerks.

At its 311th board meeting, AUDA approved revisions to 14 Town Planning (TP) schemes, paving the way for final sanction. The schemes cover Kuvalda-Kanbha-Kathwada-Singarva, Visalpur, Barejadi-Nandej-Devdi, Nandej-Devdi, Kalol-Saij-Borisna, Atalpur, Aslali-Lambha, Dehgam, Sanathal-Telav, Muthiya-Bilasiya-Enasan, Chekhla-Godhavi-Garodia-Vansajada-Dhediya-Unali, and Santej-Rakanpur. They are intended to support roads, other infrastructure and planned urbanisation.

The board declared its intention to prepare four new TP schemes covering Dehgam, Godhavi, Kaneti, Sanand and Nidhrad. Together, they cover around 500 hectares and are intended to facilitate roads and other infrastructure.

AUDA also approved the e-auction of 15 commercial plots across six TP schemes, in Chandkheda, Bopal, Thaltej and Chandlodia-Gota. The auction will follow the land disposal policy and reserve prices approved by the committee.
