A 67-year-old woman in Ahmedabad filed a police complaint alleging two developers sold her a Ambawadi flat for Rs 2.5 crore despite an existing registered agreement with another buyer.

A 67-year-old woman lodged a complaint with Gujarat University police alleging two developers took Rs 2.5 crore from her for a flat in Ambawadi despite an existing registered agreement for the same property in favour of another buyer.

In 2022, the complainant and her husband searched for a new home. In October 2022, they visited the scheme and selected Flat No. 301 with 484 sq yard super built-up area. The developer quoted Rs 2.5 crore. The complainant paid the amount in instalments through cheques issued to the project operating firm. The amount was deposited in a joint account held by two partners of the realty firm. A notarised agreement was issued in December 2022 and raw possession was handed over in January 2023. The complainant moved to the apartment nine months ago with her family before filing the complaint on Monday.
