The Union Cabinet approved an 11.56-km extension of the Noida Metro Rail Project from Sector 142 to the existing Botanical Garden station. The elevated corridor will add eight stations; when operational, the Noida and Greater Noida metro network will total 61.62 km.

At Botanical Garden, passengers can interchange with the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line (Noida City Centre–Dwarka Sector 21) and Magenta Line (Janakpuri West–Botanical Garden), which provides airport access. The corridor will serve commercial centres Advant Business Park (Sector 142), Skymark One Mall (Sector 98) and Mall of Noida (Sector 93); corporate offices including Microsoft (Sector 145), TCS (Sector 157), Infosys, Adobe and Oracle (Sectors 132, 135 and 127); Amity University (Sector 125); and Max Super Specialty Hospital (Sector 128). The project aims to improve access to residential and business areas, reduce congestion and travel times, and cut carbon emissions. Narendra Modi said the extension would boost ease of living and Noida’s development.

Noida seals apartments and shop in Sector 50 over developer dues

Noida authority sealed two unsold apartments (6,500 sq ft and 7,500 sq ft) and commercial space (1,000 sq ft, Tower Y ground floor) belonging to TGB Infrastructure Private Limited in a Sector 50 group housing plot after the firm failed to pay ₹55.27 crore in land cost dues as of December 31, 2023, despite repeated notices. CEO Lokesh M said sealing was ordered due to non-payment after multiple notices. On December 27, 2024, authority urged district administration to issue recovery notice as per procedure. In related enforcement, Noida authority cancelled allotments in November 2024 of two commercial properties in Sector 53 (dues: ₹1.44 crore and ₹1.18 crore) and five institutional properties: four corporate office plots in Sectors 1, 16A, 127, and 62 with dues of ₹1.32 crore, ₹5.41 crore, ₹4.63 crore, and ₹1.3 crore respectively; and one IT plot in Sector 62 with ₹2.24 crore dues. UP Chief Secretary directed this enforcement on October 27, 2024, instructing cancellation of allotments for non-payment after final warning.
