The Karnataka High Court dismissed appeals filed by the state and Namma Whitefield RWA Federation Trust regarding a land dispute in Pattandur Agrahara. Both parties had claimed the land as part of a tank bed area. The court ruled that land records showing transactions since 1918 prevent the state from reopening the dispute.

The Karnataka High Court Division Bench of Justices D K Singh and T M Nadaf directed status quo at Pattandur Agrahara Lake in Whitefield while hearing a writ appeal challenging an earlier order that dismissed a petition alleging fraud regarding the lake property. The State government was granted 10 days to file its own appeal against Writ Petition No. 26097/2018 judgment from November 2025. The State's appeal and the writ appeal filed by public trust Namma Whitefield will be heard together.

Allegations on social media claim illegal tree felling, fencing and encroachment around the lake, with fabricated documents allegedly facilitating the encroachment. The Court questioned why the State had not challenged the November 2025 judgment despite being the principal petitioner. The government's counsel stated the Chief Secretary directed the State to file an appeal, which the State assured the Bench would be filed within a week.

The Bench observed that where fraud allegations arise, the legal principle "fraud vitiates all" applies and such claims require judicial examination regardless of time elapsed. Any violation of the status quo order would be viewed seriously. No activity at the lake property is permitted. The matter was posted for hearing on July 30, 2026.

Karnataka high court dismissed a petition filed by the revenue department in 2018 challenging a Bengaluru South taluk land tribunal order dated Dec 27, 1980, concerning 11 acres and 20 guntas of land in Pattandur Agrahara, KR Pura hobli.

Justice R Devdas found the writ petition was barred by limitation with no exception applicable to the state government.

The land tribunal had ordered re-grant of land to HB Munivenkatappa. The government alleged the land constituted a lakebed, was encroached upon, and some documents had been tampered with.

Namma Whitefield Residents Welfare Association Federation supported the government's petition.

Karnataka High Court dismissed the state's petition challenging a land tribunal order. The state had argued that in Pattandur Agrahara village there were only two tanks or water bodies as found in revenue records, located in survey number 85 and 124 of Pattandur Agrahara village.

The Peripheral Ring Road Farmers and Site Owners' Association has opposed the state government's move to acquire 2,560 acres for the PRR-1 project connecting Tumkur Road to Hosur Road. The association contends the process initiated by the BDA for compensation is anti-farmer and violates statutory procedures.

Key concerns raised:

• No detailed project report (DPR) prepared before land acquisition
• Less than 80% of land acquisition completed before tenders invited
• Compensation based on BDA's 2016 guideline values rather than the 2013 Act market-linked valuation
• Missing social impact assessment, public hearings, and rehabilitation provisions
• Tenders invited without DPR and without 80% land acquisition completed

The association argues the PRR scheme, announced in 2007, has lapsed under Section 27 of the BDA Act as it has not been executed within five years and has seen no progress for nearly 20 years. A lapsed scheme cannot be revived or used for land acquisition. The association demands the BDA follow the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (RFCTLARR Act), and that landowners be immediately issued NOCs.

Separately, Bengaluru East City Corporation officials were instructed to take possession of properties for a 24-metre ORR-PRR road widening project via Mahadevapura, Doddanekkundi, Pattandur Agrahara and Nagonahalli.
