A four-storey building on a 40–50-square-yard plot at NTR Nagar in Gopanpally was demolished on Saturday, a day after cracks appeared and it tilted. Residents of the building and adjoining houses were evacuated. HYDRAA’s Disaster Response Force and Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s Town Planning wing used HYDRAA’s high-reach hydraulic machine, ‘Bahubali’, to limit risks to neighbouring buildings. The building was allegedly constructed without permission. Gachibowli police registered a case against Viswanathapalli Lakshmi and others under Sections 125 and 290 of the BNS, following a complaint by the Serilingampally Assistant City Planner.

Separately, CMC removed 201 encroachments across 16 circles during a Saturday road-clearing drive covering about 9.9 km across three zones: Serilingampally removed 56, including 23 in Patancheru and 15 in Ameenpur; Kukatpally removed 67, including 35 in Madhapur; and Quthbullapur removed 78, including 26 in Gajularamaram and 15 in Jeedimetla.

The official acknowledged monitoring gaps and said CMC lacked accurate data or a comprehensive inventory of high-rise buildings on 50-square-yard layouts in its jurisdiction.
