Pune’s Sade Satranali-Keshavnagar road-widening project, delayed for years, has moved forward after a private landowner agreed to hand over property for the project.

MHADA opened online registration on August 24, 2026, for 4,462 homes across Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, priced from ₹11 lakh to ₹64 lakh. The costliest homes are 633 two-bedroom apartments in Tathawade, with carpet areas of 69.34–70.92 sq m (746–763 sq ft), prices of ₹64.50–65.50 lakh and an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹75,000. A 636 sq ft apartment in the same building costs ₹46 lakh. The 111 one-bedroom homes at Life Republic Township, Marunji Road, Jambe, measure 27.62–28.07 sq m (297–302 sq ft) and cost ₹11.55–12.55 lakh.

Pune Municipal Corporation’s General Body approved declaring its intention to prepare a Development Plan for 23 villages merged into the city in June 2021, and appointed City Engineer Aniruddha Pavaskar as planning officer. PMRDA’s earlier draft faced complaints over agricultural land being designated for housing and reservations allegedly benefiting large developers; the state government ordered it cancelled and assigned a fresh plan to PMC. The Development Plan Cell will survey existing land use and plan for population growth and infrastructure needs over the next 20 years. The draft will be published for objections and suggestions; a state-appointed committee will hear stakeholders before a revised proposal goes to the PMC General Body and then the state for final sanction and notification. Officials expect a shorter-than-usual timeline, despite local bodies generally having two years to prepare a draft, because PMRDA completed substantial groundwork. MahaMetro has floated tenders to appoint consultants for 14 proposed elevated stations on Pune Metro Phase 2’s Line 4B and Line 4C. Bids are scheduled to open on March 5, 2026.

• Line 4B: 11.35 km from Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor, with 10 stations, including Hadapsar Phata, Manjari Phata, Wak Wasti and Loni Kalbhor.
• Line 4C: 5.57 km from Hadapsar to Saswad Road railway station, with four stations: Hadapsar Gliding Centre, Phursungi IT Park, Sulabh Garden and Saswad Road.

Consultants will handle detailed station design, including architecture, structural planning, passenger circulation and coordination with existing roads. The corridors are intended to improve access and ease commuting amid congestion in Hadapsar, Manjari, Phursungi and Loni Kalbhor, areas seeing residential and industrial development.

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the newly constructed Chandan Nagar Police Station and an Integrated Command and Control Centre. He approved five police stations in Lohgaon, Laxminagar, Narhe, Manjri and Yewalewadi, sanctioned 1,000 additional personnel and said two deputy commissioner of police posts would soon be approved. He said seven new stations had been sanctioned for one city for the first time in Maharashtra’s history.

The city’s AI-powered CCTV system will support crime analysis, traffic management and public safety. Monitoring will start at Bopdev Ghat and extend to 22 other hill zones; camera faults will trigger instant alerts, with repairs promised within 24 hours. Five surveillance vans equipped with drones and public-address systems were inducted.

A satellite-based Integrated Traffic Management System will link traffic signals. A 10-year mobility and infrastructure masterplan for Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and PMRDA areas will be refined through public feedback. Specialised narcotics and forensic units are being developed. Ajit Pawar announced ₹1,100 crore—5% of the state’s annual plan—for police modernisation; a new police structural framework was established after 60 years.
