GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan inspected ongoing works at Moosarambagh bridge on August 30, directing officials to prepare for inauguration.

Nalgonda Flyover:

• Main structure completed
• Commissioner instructed completion of A4 up-ramp and A3 side ramp towards Champapet within two to three days
• 2.5-km-long, four-lane, bi-directional steel flyover
• Construction cost: Rs 620 crore
• Route: begins at Chanchalguda, terminates at Santoshnagar
• Includes main ramp near Yadagiri Theatre at Santoshnagar, up-ramp at Saidabad, down-ramp at IS Sadan
• Expected to benefit traffic through Chanchalguda, Saidabad, Santosh Nagar, IS Sadan, Owaisi Hospital, Kanchan Bagh, Champapet, Sagar Road
• Will reduce travel time and ease congestion in Malakpet, Saidabad, Dhobighat, Champapet, Karmanghat

Both projects expected to strengthen connectivity and improve traffic movement in south Hyderabad.

The Moosarambagh Causeway Bridge connecting Amberpet and Malakpet-Dilsukhnagar is being demolished after nearly 40 years of service. The old bridge had repeatedly submerged during Musi River floods, disrupting traffic. Engineering experts found the bridge's joints had eroded and structure weakened, making it unsafe for vehicles.

The new high-level bridge, construction begun in 2024, is a six-lane structure with wide footpaths and 400-metre approach roads, spanning 220 metres and rising 10 metres above water level. Estimated cost: ₹52 crore. Expected completion: March 2026.

The new bridge is designed to withstand future floods and end traffic disruption across the Musi. GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan instructed officials to expedite construction. Motorists advised to use Golnaka Bridge and alternative routes during demolition and construction.

A decades-old causeway on River Musi at Moosarambagh Bridge was demolished after heavy rains damaged the structure. Traffic has been restricted and diverted to alternative routes, forcing commuters to take detours of 4–5 km. The causeway previously connected Amberpet, Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet and adjoining areas.

GHMC is constructing a new high-level bridge at the site, spending Rs 52 crore. The proposed bridge will have six lanes and 3.5 metre sidewalks on each side. Work is progressing slowly with delays reported.

GHMC officials cited safety concerns about the causeway's structural stability as the reason for demolition, stating the decision was made "from the safety point of commuters and to prevent high risk to human lives."
