Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation launched enforcement drive on 17 September 2026 against unauthorised constructions in Uppal, Kapra and LB Nagar zones following deaths in Anjaiah Nagar, Gachibowli on 22 August.

Demolitions and removals:

• Uppal: rooms converted from stilt-floor parking at Beerappa/Prashanthi Nagar Colony Road No. 2; unauthorised balcony encroaching towards road
• Rampally, Ghatkesar Circle: unauthorised commercial shed removed
• Dharani Colony, Medipally village, Boduppal Circle: centring for unauthorised penthouse dismantled, construction halted
• Gayatri Hills Colony, Miyapur village, Boduppal Circle: unauthorised shed removed
• Kapra Circle: unauthorised rooms in stilt-floor parking at Plot 236/C, Padmashali Township, AS Rao Nagar demolished; parking space to be restored per approved plan
• LB Nagar Zone: unauthorised third and fourth floors demolished in Lalitha Nagar and Gaddiannaram, Saroornagar; rooms in stilt-floor parking removed; unauthorised third and fourth floors demolished in Maitri Nagar Colony under LB Nagar Circle

Building owners and developers directed to follow municipal permissions and sanctioned building plans. Officials stated enforcement would continue to protect parking, public spaces, prevent road encroachments and ensure orderly urban development.

A Division Bench of the Telangana High Court (Justice Mousami Bhattacharya and Justice Gadi Praveen Kumar) stayed implementation of a trial court order directing enforcement of a Lok Adalat award for approximately 90.08 acres in Kapra village, Medchal–Malkajgiri district.

The State challenged the lower court's permit to execute the Lok Adalat award, claiming the land is evacuee property and the award was obtained fraudulently. The Court issued notices to private respondents and adjourned the matter to June 15.

According to the State: The land in multiple survey numbers originally belonged to Mandala Bucham (died 1942), was auctioned and purchased by Raheem Baksh. After Baksh's death, his legal heirs migrated to Pakistan following Police Action, resulting in the land being classified as "evacuee property" under a 1952 Hyderabad Government Gazette notification.

The land was later allotted to certain Pakistan migrants, but disputes arose over revenue entries leading to prolonged litigation. The State valued the land at several thousand crores and claimed it is public property. The government alleged private individuals secured the evacuee notification's removal and obtained the Lok Adalat award through fraud.

Government Pleader Katram Muralidhar Reddy argued the award was fraudulently obtained and the trial court ignored binding precedents, including a 2011 Supreme Court judgment declaring the land as government property.

Private respondents' counsel contended the dispute had undergone multiple rounds of litigation and the writ petition was not maintainable.

The High Court stayed the trial court's order enforcing the Lok Adalat award and directed private parties to file counters.
