The Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission ruled that the Saket Pranaam flat owners’ association cannot charge every resident the same maintenance fee and must base charges on flat size. The order followed a complaint by studio-flat owner SL Narasimha Rao, whose unit measures 445–702 sq ft. He challenged a uniform monthly fee of ₹2,500, later raised to ₹3,500 after an extraordinary general body meeting in August 2024, arguing that smaller units should not pay the same as larger apartments. The commission agreed that the uniform model burdened smaller-flat owners while effectively subsidising residents of bigger units.
