Bhopal’s Maida Mill–Ganesh Mandir stretch has developed deep craters, peeling road surfaces and uneven patches after heavy monsoon showers, disrupting commuters. The route passes Board Office Square and Rani Kamlapati railway station, links commercial hub MP Nagar with the station, and carries heavy daily traffic. It also serves residents of Arera Colony, Habibganj, Shahpura and other residential areas along Hoshangabad Road. Officials are due to review repairs on September 21.

• 10:00 AM–2:00 PM: Fortune Kasturi, Nikhil Homes Phase-III, Kunjan Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Jyoti Nagar, Krishna Enclave, Rosewood Enclave, Sagar Eden Garden, Parsh Villa and nearby areas; maintenance and tree cutting.
• 10:00 AM–3:00 PM: Deepak Warehouse, Shubham Warehouse, HT Connection Akriti Aqua City, Ambika Ghar Nirman Samiti, MG Hector Showroom, Bheropur, Scada Showroom and nearby areas; line maintenance.

• In Shubhalay Pearl Colony, Misrod, bank manager Sanket Tiwari was allegedly assaulted on Saturday by neighbour Dr Vivek Rajoriya and two aides after objecting to repeated car parking outside his house.
• In Sukhi Sewania, Durga Thakur damaged Nepal Singh’s car and issued threats over a parking dispute on Monday night.
• Police records show three to four parking-related clash cases are registered every week.
• ACP Hanumanganj Rakesh Singh Baghel said three out of every five complaints at police stations now involve parking disputes.
• The problem affects gated colonies, campus townships, apartment blocks and high-end residential societies.
• Old City localities face the worst pressure because of dense population and narrow lanes, with routine disputes in Shahjahanabad, Jahangirabad, Kotwali and Talaiya.
• In Shyamla Hills, residents said each family often gets only one car parking slot, but households with multiple SUVs, cars and two-wheelers use extra space.
• In an Idgah Hills apartment complex, residents said some households occupy several limited parking spaces, leaving others without room.
• Two days earlier, miscreants damaged a dozen cars in Green Park Colony, Gautam Nagar, after an argument with a trader over a car parked on the road.
• Three months earlier, brothers Arbaz and Ayan were assaulted in Noor Mahal locality, Kotwali area, over a parking space.
• In February 2024, an elderly man died after being beaten in Ashoka Garden over a parking issue.
• In June 2023, Congress leader Shabista Zaki and her husband were attacked by their neighbour in Shyamla Hills over a parking dispute.
• In December 2020, a 50-year-old woman in Bairagarh Deepti Manwani allegedly died of shock after a neighbour pointed a gun at her teenage son over a parking issue.

Summer water crisis affects approximately 150–160 residential colonies along Hoshangabad Road in Zone-13 of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Colonies with bulk Narmada water connections experience low pressure and inconsistent supply. Residents report receiving only about 10% of their fixed water quantity. Colonies with borewells manage better; others rely on private tankers. Three colonies—Vidya Nagar, Surendra Palace, and Anand Vihar—report normal supply. BMC officials attribute increased summer demand to cooler usage and state they charge based on meter readings. New Colonies Welfare Association President reports typical shortfall: 100 families entitled to 1 lakh liters receive only 10,000 liters; residents receive bills of Rs 8–10 lakh despite non-supply.
