On Thursday, July 10, the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) demolished a barrier wall on Street No. 6 in Habsiguda after residents of Concrete Trumpet Apartments in Nandanavanam complained through its public grievance system. The wall had obstructed the route for 15 years. Traffic can now travel directly from Street No. 4 to Street No. 6 and reach Habsiguda’s main road, reducing the distance between Nandanavanam and Jayanagar colonies. Nandanavanam residents can reach NGRI metro station in 1 km, instead of 1.5 km.

HYDRAA had earlier demolished a wall in Nizampet municipality that extended a commute from the Outer Ring Road exit at Mallampet, via Bachupally X Roads, to Pragathi Nagar from 3 km to 8 km. HYDRAA found the layout was not a gated community, despite claims by Praneeth, APR Pranav Antilia, and removed the wall.

Drinking water supply will be disrupted during Phase II work on the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project from 6 am on October 5 to 6 pm on October 6.

Affected areas: Adibatla, Kammaguda, Gurranguda, BN Reddy Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Autonagar, Alkapuri, Beerappagadda, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Venkat Reddy Nagar, Uppal, Nacharam, HMT Nagar, Tarnaka, Boudhanagar, Lalapet (partial), Hasmatpet, Prakashnagar, Mekalamandi, Bholakpur (partial), Padmaraonagar, Begumpet, South Central Railway, MES, Secunderabad Cantonment, Lalaguda, Addagutta, Pattigadda, Nallagutta, Gautamnagar, Ferozguda, Bansilalpet, Ramgopalpet, Sitaphalmandi, Mettuguda, Vaishalinagar, Mirpet, Badangpet, ARCI, Balapur, Mysore, Barkas, NPA, Shamshabad, Madhuban and Prashasannagar (partial).

Traffic diversions from the ongoing Uppal–Narapally elevated corridor works are spilling into colony roads and residential lanes around Uppal X roads and surrounding areas.

Commute times have increased substantially: a journey from Uppal to Boduppal that took five minutes now takes 15 minutes. A commuter from Ramanthapur to Turkayamjal reported heavy traffic at 6 a.m., taking over 10 minutes to cross a stretch normally taking four or five minutes.

Three-way diversion system in operation: Survey of India road towards Beerappagadda lane carries 50–60% of diverted traffic; Uppal Bhagayath and Nalla Cheruvu road is another route; Habsiguda–Nacharam–NFC corridor is being used by navigation app users.

Worst-affected stretches: Raghavendra Colony Road, Laxma Reddy Colony Road, old Sub-Registrar office lane, and Beerappagadda road, with congestion extending into late evenings.

Business impact: Walk-in customers have dropped noticeably. A mobile phone store on Boduppal Main Road reported customers avoiding the stretch, with journey times from Boduppal to Uppal increasing from five minutes to 15 minutes.

Parking issues: Residents parking hurriedly along roadsides to save time before catching the Metro, choking narrow bylanes. Evening hours see additional 10–15 minutes of traffic delays.

Traffic Inspector G. Nagaraju stated the authorised diversion adds approximately 0.5 km and 2–3 minutes of travel time, but some commuters are driving in opposite direction attempting to save time, causing temporary choke points.

Tarnaka junction, previously closed, will reopen for a fortnight-long trial from April 18 to May 2.

• From Osmania University, vehicles may go straight to Lalapet or turn right towards Habsiguda. From Lalapet, they may go straight to Osmania University or turn right towards Mettuguda.
• Traffic from Mettuguda cannot turn right towards Osmania University; it must continue towards Huda Complex and Tarnaka, then turn towards Osmania University.
• Traffic from Habsiguda cannot turn right towards Lalapet; it must continue towards IRISET and make a U-turn at Tarnaka junction towards Lalapet.

Hyderabad Traffic Police asked citizens to plan their travel accordingly.

Tarnaka junction will reopen for vehicular movement on a 15-day trial from April 18 to May 2, according to a public notice by Hyderabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).

• From Osmania University, vehicles may go straight to Lalapet or turn right toward Habsiguda.
• From Lalapet, vehicles may go straight to Osmania University or turn right toward Mettuguda.
• From Mettuguda, right turns toward Osmania University are prohibited. Vehicles must continue toward Huda Complex, Tarnaka, take a U-turn and turn left at Tarnaka toward Osmania University.
• From Habsiguda, right turns toward Lalapet are prohibited. Vehicles must continue toward IRISET, take a U-turn and turn left at Tarnaka junction toward Lalapet.
