It falls under the Thane Municipal Corporation, PWD and MMRDA.

The road has seen accidents linked to deep potholes, poor lighting and heavy traffic. On February 2, a speeding container truck hit a scooter from behind, killing a 35-year-old woman and injuring her husband and young son. In January, a multiple-vehicle crash near Gaimukh Ghat on NH-48 caused major traffic disruption towards Mira Road and Gujarat.
