The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has resolved long-standing discrepancies in settlement records for the K-7, Kalinganagar plotted scheme in Ghatikia mouza. Residential plots were allotted under this scheme in 1991. Inconsistencies between actual plot positions and revenue records prevented allotment holders from availing post-allotment services, lease deeds, and conversion of leasehold to freehold properties. The government directed authorities to resolve the issue through revenue proceedings. BDA appointed lawyers to represent genuine allotment holders. The member, Board of Revenue conducted weekly case hearings. A joint team from BDA, General Administration and Public Grievance, Revenue and Disaster Management departments conducted field inspections and submitted a detailed report. After hearing on Thursday, the Board pronounced orders in 218 cases. The Bhubaneswar tehsildar was directed to correct plot areas and maps. The decision removes hurdles faced by K-7 allotment holders and facilitates smooth delivery of post-allotment services.

Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has proposed a mega community market-cum-residential complex in Ghatikia to add infrastructure. To be developed over 2.79 acres, the market will have three floors, fully air-conditioned with separate sections for non-vegetarian and vegetarian items. Each shop will measure at least 150 sq metres internal area. The market will include circulation passages, staircases, storage, and toilets. BDA plans to replicate the market model of Gajwel in Telangana. The site has been finalised and tender floated. Vice-chairman N. Thirumala Naik stated: "We have decided to develop the market in public-private-partnership mode. The tender is likely to be finalised by the end of April." BDA plans at least 220 shops in the market.

The NGT suspended construction of a real estate project in Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar due to developer non-compliance with environmental regulations. The State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) of Odisha originally granted approval through the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) for 12 residential towers; 8 have been completed. SEIAA mandated construction of a stormwater drain before further development but the developer proceeded without fulfilling this requirement. A show-cause notice was issued on 27 January questioning potential withdrawal of environmental clearance after more than 1.5 years of non-compliance. A resident, Sanu Das, escalated the matter to the NGT, citing concerns over local community impact. The Tribunal emphasized strict adherence to SEIAA conditions including stormwater management, proper land conversion, and occupancy certificates. The developer was given 15 days to meet environmental requirements.
