Location is natural low-lying area. Previously rainwater drained through natural channel towards Haryana, but outlet no longer operational, causing recurring monsoon waterlogging.
Affected stretch under Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) jurisdiction. Pumps deployed as immediate measure to remove accumulated rainwater.
Government decision: PWD to construct precast reinforced cement concrete (RCC) drain from Dera Mandi Road to Dera Bhati Road, connecting to Bandh Road. Collected stormwater will be pumped into SSN Marg drain.
Minister directed officials to prepare project proposal on priority and coordinate with agencies to begin work earliest. Government assessing vulnerable locations across city for long-term waterlogging reduction measures during monsoon.
