All types of educational institutions and super specialist hospitals are available within short distance. A lively place for all types of people can peacefully enjoy life.

Maharashtra Directs MHADA to Expedite Pune District Housing Projects

At a review meeting at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on August 5, 2026, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar directed MHADA to expedite pending housing projects and announce an affordable-housing lottery. She called for faster administrative approvals and decisions for Pune Housing and Area Development Board projects, and for unsold homes featured in at least two lotteries to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. MHADA was asked to develop working-women’s and student hostels.

Projects requiring faster approvals include ₹155.22 crore in Shirur and ₹89.47 crore in Kharabwadi, Pune district. Pawar sought a policy preventing extra charges under the Pune Board’s 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme and directed that unsold flats be allotted within six months under UDCPR.

Other directions included finding an alternative site after removing the postal reservation on a MHADA plot in Kharadi; accelerating the proposed 8,000–10,000-home Dapodi project; and having PMRDA complete the 18-metre access road, water supply and sewage treatment plant for Mhalunge-Ingale. Two hectares in Miraj, Sangli, are to be transferred to MHADA under PMAY (Urban), with additional strategically located government land identified for affordable housing. Officials must prepare time-bound action plans and conduct regular reviews.

PCMC Plans 2.5-Km Road Linking Kasarwadi and Dapodi

PCMC has approved a consultant for a 2.5-km road alongside the railway line, intended to ease congestion between Dapodi and Nigdi.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) plans an 18-metre-wide development-plan road along the railway line from Kasarwadi Bridge to Dapodi Bridge, between Nashik Phata and Dapodi Bridge. The 2.5-km route will provide an alternative for Kasarwadi, Phugewadi and Dapodi and is intended to reduce congestion on the Dapodi–Nigdi route.

Eight agencies entered the consultant tender process; four presented proposals to City Engineer Makrand Nikam, and three were selected after technical review. Swaraj Engineering Consultancy received the highest marks and was approved, at a fee of 1.68%: 0.50% pre-tender and 1.18% post-tender. PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar approved the decision.

Parts of the road have been built from Hirabai Landge Chawl, Kasarwadi Bridge to Harris Bridge in Dapodi; land acquisition is under way for other sections. The route passes through the Phugewadi cemetery area. The tender process will follow appointment of the consultant for final development. Executive Engineer Satish Waghmare said the road will save travel time and improve internal traffic.
