The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), in coordination with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), completed a major demolition drive near Kanyashram in Chandrasekharpur. The operation removed 330 houses and illegal structures from government land.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned to develop a commercial complex-cum-convention centre at Chandrasekharpur, a strategically located and rapidly growing area. BMC has identified an area of 1.78 acres for the project. The project will be executed under public-private partnership model.

Heavy rain linked to a low-pressure area caused moderate to severe waterlogging in at least two dozen Bhubaneswar areas on Sunday. Rainwater entered homes in low-lying Mancheswar, Mohanty Gadia and Chandrasekharpur. Stormwater flooded the Satsang Vihar underpass and the NHAI underpass near Satya Vihar; Fire Services pumps drained both. The department deployed dewatering pumps at more than 20 locations, including Swapneswar Temple area (ward 4), Sundarpada, Sai Mandir on Tankapani Road, Mancheswar Bhoi Sahi, Satya Vihar, Millennium City, Laxmi Residency in Pahala, Tamando, Tarini Basti in Kalinga Vihar, Bagicha Colony in Saliasahi Vihar, Balianta, Vani Vihar, Nuagaon and Nuapatana. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation had pumps positioned at 33 vulnerable points and mobilised rapid-response teams. NHAI was asked to address flooding at Vani Vihar underpass. Housing and Urban Development Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee directed all urban local bodies to remain on high alert, keep staff and equipment ready, and respond promptly.

The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) floated a Rs 77-crore tender for a 45-metre-wide arterial road linking Guru Kelucharan Park in Gadakana to Patia railway station. The nearly 3-km-long road will be completed within 18 months and is part of a comprehensive development plan to create alternative arterial corridors. The new stretch is expected to reduce heavy traffic burden on the busy Jaydev Vihar-Nandankanan road.

The project followed BDA's acquisition of around 18 acres of private land under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. A social impact assessment identified over 150 affected individuals across Chandrasekharpur, Patia and Gadakana.

Once operational, the road will improve connectivity to residential areas including Patia, Chandrasekharpur, Gadakana and Damana, and enhance access to Patia railway station and nearby IT and institutional hubs, including Infocity. The project is part of a larger plan to develop six alternative roads—three on each side of the Jaydev Vihar-Nandankanan corridor—to streamline traffic flow. Experts believe the new road could boost economic activity in the Patia belt by driving up land value and encouraging commercial development.

Mo Bus, also called AMA Bus, is run by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), the public-transport agency for the Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Capital Region. Its fleet includes Tata Motors air-conditioned buses and Olectra electric buses. Cash is accepted; the Mo Card provides a 10% fare discount and can be recharged online. Physical cards are issued at five Bhubaneswar locations.

The Mo Bus app for Android and iOS offers live tracking, route planning, card recharge and pass purchases. Tracking is more reliable on major routes, including Routes 1, 3 and 11; GPS gaps affect some outer routes. CRUT operates more than 35 routes. Route 3 links Railway Station and Infocity; Route 5 connects Baramunda and Old Town; Route 11 serves Cuttack–Bhubaneswar commuters. Other routes serve the Patia–Chandrasekharpur corridor, AIIMS and Damana, and Chandrasekharpur–Sahid Nagar.

Fares use distance slabs of ₹10–₹40. Passes offer unlimited trips: a seven-day pass covers Bhubaneswar city routes; 30-day and student passes are also available, while a monthly pass covering Cuttack intercity routes serves daily commuters. Student passes are available to KIIT, XIMB, SOA and Utkal University students with valid college ID.
