Chakrata Road itself covers a large area because it starts right from the heart of city i.e clock tower and goes upto chakrata which is almost 70 km away so we should divide it in city area and rural area city area can be considered upto premnagar belt there after selaqui industrial area belt and then agricultural belt the whole chakrata road is quite happening and full of greenry

The nearly 10-km stretch from Clock Tower to Premnagar connects Yamuna Colony, Ballupur Square and the Indian Military Academy (IMA). Commuters encounter snarls from multiple bottlenecks, newly opened commercial establishments and road sections dug up for civic projects. Residents and shopkeepers say conditions have worsened over recent months. Narayan Singh Rawat, who runs a pharmacy in Kishan Nagar, said traffic management is at its worst in decades.

With less than two weeks before the October 15 deadline set by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, potholes remain on several Dehradun roads. The Public Works Department (PWD) identified 82 roads spanning 290.03 kilometres for repairs at an estimated cost of ₹587.91 lakh, but has completed patchwork on only 13.09 kilometres.

Residents reported unrepaired potholes on the Ranghadwala–Ambiwala stretch, roads in Mohkampur, and the road from Dharampur Chowk to Sabzi Mandi, where loose gravel is scattered. Main roads dug up for civic works in Nehru Colony and Chakrata Road also need proper repairs. Some recently repaired stretches developed cracks and potholes after two days of rain.

In August, Dhami directed district magistrates to launch a statewide post-monsoon pothole-repair drive, prepare action plans and form monitoring committees. He said the deadline would not be extended. PWD assistant engineer Govind Singh Koundal said work had begun in Karanpur, Dalanwala, Nehrugram and other areas, and the department would meet the deadline despite rain-related delays.
